On behalf of Pontas, Marc de Gouvenain attended the fantastic festival Étonnants Voyageurs, held in Saint Malo (May, 18-20th). Three Pontas writers were invited there this year : Pete Fromm (published by Gallmeister), Olivier Truc (at Métailié) and Gabi Martínez (at Autrement, in the photo below with Doris Audoux, publicist at Autrement), who could participate in different panels and sign their books. The sun was not present but thousands of readers, as usual, came with the will of meeting writers they appreciate or discover new writers. One of the focuses this year was Africa 3.0, a good opportunity for Marc to strengthen or weave links with authors from South Africa, Nigeria, Gabon and other countries of this continent full of literary promising young voices.
An impressive list of documentaries and films was also proposed to visitors, plus music and slam shows, proving that once again Étonnants Voyageurs is a major event of the international book branch. Here below: Olivier Truc signed many copies of his acclaimed and awarded novel Le dernier lapon; under the happy supervision of his publisher Anne-Marie Métailié and Marc, who was one of the first readers of the manuscript.
