The Pontas Agency was present at the XIV Rio de Janeiro International Book Fair 2009, the Brazil’s most important publishing event, held every other year. Opened this year on September 10th, it has been visited so far by more than 310,000 people!
Anna Ascolies met many publishers between the fairground and their offices and she also had the chance to attend the welcoming party organized by the book fair in the magnificent Parque Lage of Rio de Janeiro. She also met Tatiana Salem Levy, winner of the São Paulo Award in 2008, who showed her many exciting places of her beloved hometown. The key of Smyrna is still a complete success in Brazil and Tatiana attented a talk at the fair along with other Brazilian and international writers. The novel will be soon published in France and Spain and adapted into a film.
