On behalf of the Pontas Agency, Marc de Gouvenain visited Stockholm on the last days of August, when the town begins its Fall activity. Even when Pontas writers live far, we try to speak eye to eye with them once in a while, and to hear about their writing and works in progress. As well as to celebrate their successes and translation or film contracts signed!
Sara Lövestam, with her Heart of jazz just released is busy with the last pages of an unusual grammatic book and ready to begin with a thrilling long and dramatic story. Christoffer Carlsson, already praised for his just published The Invisible man of Salem, has finished the first draft of the second volume of the trilogy with Leo Junker as a main character.
Marc was also in Stockholm to renew the contact with Zinat Pirzadeh, writer and comedian, who after the story of pain and hope she told in The Butterfly on the leash has a much lighter and comic book in progress, a story we all wait with impatience. Meeting Mustafa Can, was for Marc the opportunity to say how much he appreciated his profound praise for an immigrant mother: Tätt intill dagarna.
The last evening was for feast and dance, with a touch of contacts in the publishing world, enjoying the one year celebration of Hedlund Agency and meet there, as he is based in Stockholm, Olivier Truc, a French author represented “in the South” by Pontas and “in the North” by Hedlund Agency. Happy birthday Hedlund agency!
