From the May 23rd to 25th 2015, Marc de Gouvenain, on behalf of the Pontas Agency, attended once again the literary festival Étonnants Voyageurs in Saint Malo. The festival, now considered as one of the two major literary events in France, was celebrating its 25th edition, of which Marc missed only two or three along the years.
One of the guests of the festival this year was Congolese author Fiston Mwanza Mujila, whose debut novel, Tram 83, has successfully been published in its original French language by Éditions Métailié (and soon to be published in English, German, Dutch, Italian, Swedish and Catalan). Fiston participated in different panels and could meet other writers and exchange points of view.
In the photos below: Fiston attending one panel and Marc with Susanna Crossman, British author also represented by Pontas who lives in Saint Malo (where she wrote her debut novel The Tide That Took The Sea).
Étonnants Voyageurs is a perfect place to network efficiently and Marc not only met the 'old friends' but could develop new acquaintances. In the pictures below, Marc with Alaa El-Aswani and Russell Banks; and Christine Chaumeau (journalist at Courrier International), in between Fiston Mwanza Mujila and publisher Anne-Marie Métailié.
