The FIL Guadalajara, the most important international book fair of the Spanish language publishing industry, took place in the Mexican city of Guadalajara from November 26th to December 4th, 2016. While celebrating 30 years, the entire Latin America was the guest of honor of the fair. A very large number of authors, publishers and literary agents, besides scouts, distributors and booksellers from Latin America and other territories were gathered together and Anna Soler-Pont attended the fair on behalf of the Pontas Agency.
Almost two years after the publication of her novel in its Spanish original language at Editorial Anagrama, Milena Busquets had the chance to promote her novel También esto pasará (This Too Shall Pass) among the Mexican media, as well as participating in two events with Mexican author Guadalupe Nettel (below, left) and Cuban author Wendy Guerra (below, right, the three of them together).
Claudia Salazar Jiménez was another author represented by Pontas who could participate in several events, as well as launch her latest short stories book, Coordenadas temporales, at the fair. In the photos below, taken at the Peruvian stand: Claudia and Anna; and Claudia talking about her new book as well as about the recent publication in the United Stated of her novel Blood of the Dawn with Deep Vellum Publishing.
All sorts of interesting meetings took place at the rights center (called “Salón de Derechos”), stands, the lobby of several hotels and nice restaurants and historical spots around the city.
