Saturday February 28th and Sunday March 1st, on behalf of the Pontas Agency, Marc de Gouvenain attended the Brussels Book Fair 2015, an important European cultural event, organized since 1970, gathering Francophone writers from Belgium, France, Québec or Africa, but largely opened also to other cultures of the world.
Gathering some 80,000 passionated visitors, the event is appreciated by publishers and bookseller. Two Pontas clients, Fiston Mwanza Mujila and Olivier Truc, were signing their novels and participating in debates organized by the fair. When Olivier was discussing crime with Deon Meyer, Fiston Mwanza debated on "how to cope with daily life" in Congo, or about African literatures.
The fair was also a good opportunity for Marc to meet several Belgian writers and meet again Jean Bofane, Congolese writer he published a few years ago when an editor (in the photo below). He had the pleasure to have a long discussion, promising interesting future contacts, with Sylvie Philippart de Foy, in charge at Centre Wallonie-Bruxelles of the promotion of Belgian francophone writers.
