Last July 13th, four professionals based in Barcelona were invited to discuss about the role of design in Barcelona and how creativity is managed internationally from this city at the FadFest – Barcelona Design Festival.
Benedetta Tagliabue, architect, co-founder and director of Estudi Miralles Tagliabue EMBT; Javier Mariscal, designer (you can find works by both of them all over the world); Anna Soler-Pont, founder and director of Pontas Literary & Film Agency, a company representing authors from the five continents and involved in international film and tv projects; and as a special guest, Ferran Mascarell, the “Honorable Conseller de Cultura de la Generalitat de Catalunya” (Minister of Culture of the Catalan government). The conversation was moderated by Toni Puntí, director of the tv cultural programme Ànima (broadcasted by TV3).
Considering the management of creativity and talent as a type of design was one of the issues discussed. As well as the fact that Barcelona is a cultural brand to be kept in good health and that all companies working internationally from Barcelona are aware of that. Barcelona is well located in all maps thanks to its success attracting tourism. But Barcelona is also located in the professional maps as a leading hub for international cultural management. In Pontas we like to be in Barcelona and to work for our clients from Barcelona.
