German film producer Peter Nadermann visited the main locations of Dolores Redondo ’s novels with the author herself accompanied by Anna Soler-Pont and Ricard Domingo of the Pontas team (and by local journalist Juan Mari Ondicol). A flash-trip to Elizondo could finally be organized, as well as a walk through the beautiful woods of the Baztan Valley.
Peter Nadermann is known for his good eye for thrillers for international audiences. He was involved, among many others (teaming with Yellow Bird) in Stieg Larsson’s Millennium trilogy. In October 2012, Nadcon Film, the joint venture of Peter Nadermann and Constantin Film (co-producers of Nowehere in Africa, Oscar winner of Best Foreign Language Film in 2002) acquired the “Trilogy of Baztan” by Dolores Redondo. The first title of the trilogy being The Invisible Guardian, published in January 2013 simultaneously in Spanish, Catalan, Basque and Galician (over 100,000 copies have been sold in five months); German, French, Italian and Dutch editions have also already been published and translations rights have been sold up to twenty languages so far.
According to Peter Nadermann, the plan is to produce an English language film shot in the real locations. Although the possibility of producing an international tv series is also open. Given the success of the novel and the announcement that the second volume of the trilogy (Legacy in the Bones) is finished and it will be published before the end of 2013 (most probably November), the interest in the audiovisual adaptation is growing!
