We're proud to inform that Anna Soler-Pont has been awarded the “Creu de Sant Jordi” (Saint George's Cross) 2015, one of the highest civil distinctions awarded by the Government of Catalonia, established in 1981, surpassed only in protocol by the Gold Medal. The committee highlighted Anna Soler-Pont's outstanding activity since 1992 with the founding of the Pontas Literary & Film Agency and the international achievements of the company; her constant promotion of African literature; her task as Commissioner of the Catalan Culture Program as Guest of Honour at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2007; the development of audiovisual projects as producer, both for television and cinema and her activities as writer and scriptwriter.
On May 4th, at the ceremony that took place in the great opera theater of Liceu, in Barcelona, the president of Catalonia gave the cross, the pin and the diploma to Anna Soler-Pont, as well as to other 26 personalities that had also been acknowledged. This year, Anna was the youngest person receiving such award (and also one of the very few women, among which were architect Carmen Pinós, actresses Mercè Sampietro and Emma Vilarasau and linguist Maria Teresa Cabré).
